Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery (CRAR)

CRAR is a legal procedure that allows a commercial landlord, where the requirements are met, to instruct certificated enforcement agents to recover qualifying rent arrears without first obtaining a court judgment.

Once we receive the lease, current rent schedule and tenant details, we can assess the case promptly. Where CRAR applies, the required Notice of Enforcement must normally provide seven clear days before enforcement agents attend.

CRAR can generally recover unpaid principal rent, plus applicable interest and VAT, under a written commercial lease. It does not normally cover service charges, insurance or other charges unless they form part of the rent. We will check your documents before proceeding.
